All-State Show Choir Festival: April 24-26, 2024, Hartselle High School, Hartselle, AL

  • Students will receive an individual 5 minute time slot for singing, and each school will receive a ten minute time slot for dancing (per five students.)
  • Students will be expected to “check out” of their school class to complete this audition through Zoom.
  • Students will receive the cut to each song upon arrival to the audition. (Director will be sent the cut tracks the day of auditions and will be expected to facilitate the sound of both the singing and dance cuts.)
  • All judging sessions will be recorded and the panel of adjudicators will be asked to use the rubric provided to judge based on the recorded session.

ASSC Audition Registration

The All-State Show Choir audition registration and payment postmark deadline is Friday, December 1, 2023. Registrations will not be accepted after Friday, December 1, 2023. 2023-2024 Clinicians

Eric Van Cleave, All-State Show Choir Vocal Clinician

Eric Van Cleave is a musical arranger/orchestrator, director, and educational clinician. He has worked with many of the nation’s finest high school and college music programs as well as Cedar Fair Amusement Parks, Show Choir Camps of America, and Alfred Music Publications. Eric has also conducted the Illinois, Arizona, and New Mexico All State show choirs.

His commercial productions have earned multiple industry “IAAPA” awards for Best Overall Production and he received two Aspire awards for excellence in musical arranging.

Eric spent thirteen years as director of choral activities at Jefferson High School in Lafayette, Indiana. In 2012, he was inducted into the Lafayette School Corporation “Wall of Fame,” and has twice been recognized by the Indiana General Assembly for his contributions to Arts Education.

From 2014 to 2019, Eric served as Executive Director of the Long Center for the Performing Arts in Lafayette, Indiana. This “over-grown hobby” became an all encompassing labor of love for the theater and the Greater Lafayette Community.

He holds a B.A. in Education from Ball State University (chirp chirp!) and a M.B.A. from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Shane Coe, All-State Show Choir Choreographer

Shane Coe is a freelance choreographer, adjudicator, and clinician based in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated from Teays Valley High School where he was a part of the award winning “Prominent Rendition.” Shane is a graduate of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Popular Culture and a minor in music. Shane also studied music education for four years while at BGSU. He currently choreographs for many show choirs across the country and has won many best choreography awards working with these groups. Shane has also choreographed for collegiate operas, musicals, a capella groups, and barbershop choruses. He was a member of the BGSU Men’s Chorus as well as a founding member of the pop a capella group, the HeeBeeBGs. While with the HeeBeeBGs, he helped the group with best choreography at ICCA. In his free time, Shane enjoys reading and watching The Office.
